 Welcome to Kennedy Region Scouts Blog.


We hope through reading our stories and adventures that you will become more familiar with what Scouting looks like in Kennedy Region and why Scouting is still relevant in our modern day.

Kennedy Region is part of Scouts Asutralia, Qld Branch and is located in Townsville, North Queensland.  It covers an area from Home Hill in the south to Ingham in the North and Charters Towers in the West.  The groups currently active in our region are Charters Towers, Lower Burdekin, Pimlico Mundingburra, Belgian Gardens, Loam Island, Kirwan and Bluewater.

Kennedy Region has two permanent campsites at Tarmaroo Bluewater Scout camp and Florence Bay Campsite.  These campsites are available for Scouts, Scout familes and the public to enjoy. 

1. Florence Bay Campsite Magnetic Island.
Magnetic Island is off Townsville and is accessible by Barge or Ferry, Bus or own vehicle.

2. Tarmaroo Bluewater Scout Camp
Tarmaroo is about 20 kms North of Townsville, it has several acres of bushland south of Bluewater Creek. It is located at 25 Station Road, Bluewater.  Facilities include undercover area, kitchen, toilets, campsites and bunk rooms.

Kennedy Region Headquarters is located at 387 Charles Street, Kirwan.  The Outdoor Centre has a small meeting room for hire and is the location of our Scout Shop. As an authorised outlet we are able to sell uniforms, badges, hats etc to our Scout familes.  Contact number for Kennedy Region Scouts is 0409 575 295.
