What Scouts Do!
Scouts Australia is an accredited member of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which has over 57 million members in 173 National Scout Organisations around the world. It is the largest youth development organisation in Australia. No other organisation offers such a diverse range of activities for young people across such a wide range of ages. Scouts Australia is open to young people aged 5 to 25, and to enthusiastic and committed adult volunteers 18+ who want to share the adventure!
What Scouts do!
Have you heard the expression “The Sky’s the limit!”. This really encapsulates what scouting is about. Scouts can participate in a wide range of activities that promote adventure, skill-building, and community engagement. Youth lead- adult supporting means the youth members choose the activities they want to do. Here is a taste of what you can do in Scouting:

Scouting offers something for everyone, encouraging personal growth, teamwork, and fun through hands-on experiences! Scouting provides fun, adventure and learning for everyone involved whether it be youth or adults.
New to Scouting - No Problem! The beauty of being in the Scouting movement is that you can start at any time between 5 and 25 years old, depending on which section you join. Scouts Australia is open to everyone, and you don’t have to go through every section—you can jump in at any stage!
As an adult you do not have to have any experience to be a scout leader. Eligibility is based on being 18+ and being able to obtain a ‘Working with Children’ Card. All training is provided free. Adults’ are supported in their role.
